A young man who recently tried the UK’s most expensive fish and chips has described the meal as “bland,” claiming that his local fish fryer does a better job. Callum Ryan, a 23-year-old content creator from Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, splurged on a meal at the renowned Kerridge's Fish & Chips located inside the famous Harrods department store in London. On August 5, he spent an eye-watering £37.00 for the dish and an extra £4.95 for a refreshing Coke.
“I was really excited to try it out, but I ended up feeling disappointed,” Callum shared. “The food was just average, and honestly, I’d rather head to my local chippy instead. It’s touted as the UK’s most expensive fish and chips, so I expected a little more,” he added. “I found the dish to be quite bland, both visually and in taste. While the atmosphere was lovely and cool, it really isn’t worth such a hefty price tag—after all, it’s just fish and chips.”

To add to his surprise, Callum noticed a £1 “cover charge” on his bill, something he had never encountered before. “I guess it must just be a posh people thing,” he remarked.
