David Beckham's Candid Confession: Netflix Filming's Uncomfortable Moments

Former England football captain David Beckham recently opened up about his experiences filming the Netflix docuseries that chronicles his life, revealing that the process made him feel quite "uncomfortable." During a discussion at the Royal Television Society (RTS) London Conference, David shared his insights with presenter Jane Featherstone, highlighting the significant role of director Fisher Stevens in shaping the documentary.
When asked how he managed to create an "authentic documentary" through his production company, Studio 99, David credited Fisher and the talented team working alongside him. He confessed, "Fisher made me feel uncomfortable from the moment we sat down to talk to the moment I finished. And I really needed that because I needed a director to come at it from a different angle." He acknowledged that his life and career are relatively well-known, which is why he sought someone like Fisher to truly draw out different facets of his story.
“I never saw any other clips. I never saw anything until the moment I watched it at the premiere,” he said, reflecting on the emotional journey of viewing the completed documentary for the first time. "It was quite emotional, but it was just one of those things that I knew that I was going to make, and if I was going to make it, I was going to do it once. But it was special, it was a special, special time.”
In addition to discussing his own journey, David announced that Studio 99 is also working on a new Netflix series focused on the life of his wife, Victoria Beckham. As the producer of this exciting project, David expressed his enthusiasm about showcasing Victoria, saying, “I’m really excited about this one with Victoria because she is an amazing woman.”
He continued to praise her strength, drive, and passion, pointing out her remarkable transition from being a Spice Girl to becoming a respected figure in the fashion industry. “It's very tough, and she’s worked hard for the last 17, 18 years on her business
