David Heyman, Producer of 'Barbie' and 'Wonka,' Triumphs at PGGB 2024

David Heyman, the producer behind Barbie, Wonka, and Paddington, was honored at the 2024 Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) awards in London on September 14.
Heyman received the contribution to the industry award, recognizing his significant contributions to the UK film and television industries.
This has been a challenging period for the film and television industries in the UK, Heyman said. But I feel we're turning the corner.
Heyman emphasized the importance of nurturing the next generation of industry professionals and promoting diversity and inclusion on sets.
If we can do that, the future will truly be bright, he said.
Heyman's film Wonka, starring Timothée Chalamet, won the production team of the year award for film, while Netflix's Supacell, directed by Rapman, won the PGGB high-end TV production team of the year award.
Valeria Bullo, chair of UK film charity Reclaim The Frame, received the diversity and inclusion champion award, and Georgette Turner, a line producer and production manager, won the inspiration award.
Our PGGB members are best in class, said Lyndsay Duthie, CEO of PGGB. Their hard work and skill create the first-class reputation the UK has garnered.
