Fans of Neil Gaiman's work can breathe a sigh of relief; the third season of the beloved series Good Omens is officially moving forward at Amazon Prime Video. This news comes amidst some controversy, as Disney has temporarily halted its feature adaptation of Gaiman’s novel The Graveyard Book, following recent allegations of sexual assault against the celebrated author and screenwriter.

On July 3rd, a podcast by UK news platform Tortoise Media drew attention to accusations from two women, with three additional women later coming forward with similar claims. These allegations are said to span a time frame from 1986 to 2022. Notably, Gaiman has firmly denied all allegations against him. Despite this upheaval, Amazon has confirmed their commitment to Good Omens, having officially greenlit the third season in December 2023.

Production plans are in place for the next season, which will feature the dynamic duo of Michael Sheen and David Tennant reprising their roles. Filming is expected to kick off in early 2025 in scenic Scotland. Gaiman remains deeply involved as an executive producer, writer, and showrunner of the series, which is based on the book he co-authored with the late Terry Pratchett.
