NTAs Slammed as Rigged After Kate Garraway's Emotional Win

It seems Lord Sugar wasn’t holding back his feelings about the recent winners of the 2024 National Television Awards (NTAs). The prominent business mogul took to X to express his displeasure after his BBC show, The Apprentice, lost the Reality Competition category to the popular ITV series The Traitors. His frustration particularly flared during the ceremony when Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly snagged The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award for I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

Ant and Dec's victory edged out other contenders, including Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, The Graham Norton Show, The Masked Singer, and even their own show, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Sugar didn’t mince words about his displeasure, tweeting: “Surprise Surprise Ant and Dec win an award at the NTA. DONALD TRUMP would say it's a fix.”

When fans queried why Sugar was absent from the event, given that his show was nominated, he cheekily commented, “I was invited but for 18 years I have learnt we won't win. Karren has also learnt but Tim is still learning (having said that like Nick they would both go to an opening if an envelope).”

In the midst of the online drama, one fan cheekily proposed that I’m A Celebrity had triumphed because it wasn’t a scripted show like The Apprentice. Sugar’s response was fiery: “Shut up idiot how can The Apprentice be scripted? Use the pea brain you have. We have no idea what the candidates will say out in the street or in the boardroom.”
