Phillip Schofield's Vape Addiction: A Cautionary Tale for Busy Parents

img

Phillip Schofield was recently spotted in London, making a shopping trip for vapes after admitting that his addiction has become overwhelming following his departure from This Morning. The 62-year-old appeared downcast as he left a shop in west London, carrying six packets of e-cigarettes.

Dressed in a relaxed ensemble of a grey and black hoodie paired with grey jeans and black trainers, Phillip has taken a step back from the public eye after his exit from ITV amidst a scandal involving a controversial affair. Just days after his emotional resignation announcement last May, it came to light that he had been involved with a younger colleague and had concealed this relationship not only from his co-host and dear friend, Holly Willoughby, but also from ITV management.

Holly was understandably heartbroken by the betrayal and initially took a break from the daytime show, only to make a brief return last year before deciding to leave for good. Meanwhile, Phillip has been keeping a low profile since the incident.

In his first interview after the scandal, Phillip opened up to The Sun about how the anxiety surrounding his exit led to an alarming increase in his vaping habits. “I am not sleeping, I am not eating. There's a lot of Southern Comfort. My mind is in constant, utter turmoil. I think back to regrets, and forward to... What do I do now?” he shared.

“I've been vaping a lot. I didn't realize until it hurt, but I've been sitting, just staring into space. I sit on the sofa and stare. I realize I've blistered both hands,” he added, reflecting on the toll this has taken on his well-being.

The father of two, who is still legally married to his wife, Stephanie, despite coming out as gay in 2020, publicly confirmed the news of his exit in a heartfelt statement. This came after his affair was uncovered by upset colleagues and executives. He expressed that he agreed to “step down” to “protect” This Morning and extended his gratitude to fans for their unwavering support.
