Actor Jamie Borthwick Embraces His Pale Look Ahead of Strictly Come Dancing

As he gears up for the exciting journey of the latest season of Strictly Come Dancing, EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has openly shared his thoughts on a few aspects of the show. The 30-year-old actor who recently dazzled audiences with his performance in the 2023 Strictly Christmas special is looking forward to dancing his heart out, yet has some reservations about performing on such a grand stage.

Having tasted success already, Jamie is determined to replicate that triumph, but he acknowledges that there is a fair amount of "pressure" that comes with competing on the main show. He has been spotted practicing his dance moves on the EastEnders set, showing just how committed he is to making the most of this opportunity. However, dancing in front of a national audience has him feeling a little anxious. "I just hope we can all have a laugh whatever happens," he shared.

While he's received plenty of advice from fellow soap stars about what to expect during his time on the show, there is one thing Jamie is not keen on—spray tanning. "Not the spray tans, no. I like my pale look," he confessed in an interview. He is, however, looking forward to all the elaborate costumes that are a hallmark of the prestigious dance competition.

Reflecting on this new venture, Jamie expressed his excitement: "This is a fresh challenge, and it will be so different learning a new dance every week, especially with the public having their say." He's envisioning himself "Salsa-ing around Albert Square" and plans to reach out to his Strictly alumni from Walford for some helpful tips. "See you on the dancefloor!" he added, radiating enthusiasm.

During his Christmas special performance, Jamie partnered with Nancy Xu and stole the show, impressing both judges and viewers with a perfect score of 40 out of 40. "I had a ball doing the 'Strictly' Christmas special last year, so when I was asked to join for this series, it was the easiest
