Jack Lowden Joins the Future of UK Film Summit

Renowned actor Jack Lowden, a BAFTA winner and Emmy nominee, is the latest industry luminary to participate in Screen International’s upcoming event, "The Future Of UK Film" Summit. Set to take place on September 24 at the BFI Southbank, this event promises to be a powerhouse of discussion and insight.

Lowden will feature in a panel titled 'The Talent Game - Packaging a UK Film', alongside other notable figures in the industry, including producer Elizabeth Karlsen from Number 9 Films, Jane Epstein from Independent Talent, and Katie Ellen from HanWay Films. This engaging session aims to delve into the intricacies of pairing UK talent with fitting projects, exploring strategies for producers to assemble their teams with "bankable" talent, evaluating the current landscape of the international market for UK projects, and identifying ways to dismantle barriers that hinder access.

Jack Lowden has made a significant mark in the film industry with his impressive array of roles. He starred in Terence Davies’ poignant biopic Benediction, portraying the First World War poet Siegfried Sassoon, a performance that earned him his second Scottish BAFTA. He has also appeared in Christopher Nolan’s epic Dunkirk, and the heartwarming film Fighting With My Family, which garnered him a nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award. His work extends to Steve McQueen’s acclaimed series Small Axe, the critically acclaimed film Calibre which won awards at Edinburgh, and the gripping thriller ’71 directed by Yann Demange.

On the television front, Lowden’s recognition continues to grow. He has received nominations for both Emmy and BAFTA TV Awards for his role in the Apple TV+ hit series Slow Horses, which recently premiered its fourth season. Additionally, audiences have seen his talent shine in the leading role of the BBC and Paramount+ drama series The Gold.
